About Anodyne Endodontics

Anodyne Endodontics is a new specialty practice in Bloomingdale, IL, founded by Dr. Zainab Aziz, DDS. Every procedure is performed under a surgical operating microscope. Every complex case gets a CBCT. We are built for precision — and we need a Lead Endodontic Assistant who holds the same standard.

The Role

The Lead Endodontic Assistant is the clinical right hand of Dr. Aziz — a master-level assistant who elevates every procedure, owns clinical operations, and mentors the team below them. This is not a support role. It is a clinical leadership position.

What You Will Do

• Chairside assistance for all endodontic procedures: root canal therapy, retreatment, and apical surgery
• CBCT patient positioning, image acquisition, and file management
• Surgical Operating Microscope (SOM) setup, draping, and assistant-scope positioning
• Rubber dam setup, isolation maintenance, and irrigation support — 100% of procedures, no exceptions
• Instrument cassette preparation, procedure-specific tray setup, and sterilization oversight
• Patient comfort management: anxiety-reduction tools, in-procedure communication, signal systems
• Train, mentor, and evaluate endodontic assistants and sterilization technicians
• Manage clinical supply inventory: par levels, reorders, and documentation
• Maintain complete and accurate sterilization logs and spore test documentation

What You Bring

Required

• 2+ years endodontic or oral/maxillofacial surgery assisting experience
• Illinois IEMA Radiation Safety Certification — current
• CPR/BLS certification — current
• Illinois dental assistant registration — active

Strongly Preferred

• Illinois Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification
• CBCT operator certification — or willing to complete within 60 days of hire
• Surgical Operating Microscope experience
• Prior experience training or mentoring other dental assistants

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $46,000–$65,000 depending on experience and certifications
• Medical/Dental insurance: $500/month employer contribution toward your health premium
• Paid time off: 10 days Year 1, increasing with tenure

• Continuing education allowance: $1,500/year
• Uniform allowance: $200/year
