Job Summary
Join our dynamic dental team as an Endodontic Assistant, where your expertise will support specialized root canal treatments/surgery and contribute to exceptional patient care. Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and sterilized equipment for endodontic procedures.
- Assist the endodontist during root canal treatments by handing instruments, managing suction, and ensuring patient comfort.
- Operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners to capture precise images for diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and dental records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Support infection control protocols by practicing aseptic techniques and adhering to sterilization procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
- Educate patients on post-treatment care, answer questions about procedures, and assist with scheduling follow-up appointments.
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure safety and well-being in accordance with medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment, preferably with endodontic or general dentistry procedures.
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, medical imaging, X-ray processing, and infection control practices.
- Familiarity with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing medical records and documentation.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical coding standards.
- Experience supporting pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is a plus.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy relevant to endodontics, and aseptic techniques necessary for maintaining a sterile clinical environment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and excellent patient care.
